Art Therapy

What is Art Therapy?
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps people understand their feelings and emotions through the art they create. This also helps promote mindfulness and healing as you express your inner creative abilities. The colours that you use throughout your art piece, projects the different emotions that you are experiencing. Colours have many healing properties to them and can explain alot about how you see and feel about things.   
Who is Art Therapy for?
Art Therapy is for those who suffer with issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief and trauma. It is also helpful for people who wish to express their creative side for setting positive intentions and to release thoughts and feelings they may be holding on to. 
What happens during the session?
A discussion will take place to discuss your art preference. These include:

Once your art preference has been chosen, a discussion on what you want to gain from the workshop will take place. You will be guided through choices of different art themes to suit your individual needs. During the session support will be given throughout and a discussion of your completed art piece will take place.

How long is the Workshop?
Tuesdays 1.5 hours at The School of Mindful Healing, Sidcup DA15 9HL:
Morning 10am- 11.30pm
Evening 6.30pm - 8pm

Please ask about one to one sessions. 
The workshop is run by Marina Panayiotou who has a passion for Abstract photography. She holds an Art History Degree and Art Therapy diploma. She also won a prize in the Dongguk University’s Seoul International Virtual Meditation Festival in 2021 and displayed at the Tate Lates London LGBTQ+ Community Centre Digital Art Display, Tate Modern in 2022. Marina's aim is to continue her passion and work with people through methods of creative art to support their feelings and emotions.

£10.00pp  Group session 1.5hrs
£30.00 one to one 1.5hrs
