Course Overview

Reiki Level I introduces the foundation and practice of Usui Reiki. The course provides the history and background of Usui Reiki, energetic awareness, self-development, and practical healing techniques.

You are guided through both theory and practical elements, developing personal practice, self-awareness, and confidence in applying Reiki safely and ethically.

 

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Explain the history and development of the Usui System of Reiki.

• Describe the principles and philosophy that underpin Reiki practice.

• Demonstrate an understanding of the human energy system, including the seven main Chakra system.

• Apply Reiki hand positions for self-treatment.

• Perform a complete Reiki treatment for another person using Level I techniques.

• Demonstrate safe, ethical, and professional practice.

• Develop a personal Reiki practice to support ongoing wellbeing and reflective learning.

 

Additionally, you will receive your First Degree Usui Reiki Attunement.

​Brief History of Usui Reiki

Mikao Usui, the founder of Usui Reiki, was born in Japan in 1856. In 1922 he experienced what he called "A Great Reiki over his Head". This experience was a profound spiritual experience where he understood the great benefit of channelling this Universal Life Force Energy, known as Reiki.

Assessment

This course is assessed through observation on the day of practical skills and participation. This includes to:

• Demonstrate the Reiki hand positions.

• Complete a Reiki self treatment.

• Complete a Reiki treatment for another person

• Participate in reflective discussion.

• Show an understanding of the ethical principles of Reiki practice.​

Accreditation

On completion you will receive an IPHM Accredited Certificate.
